**UPDATE** Now also available in Tamil!
It has been a busy summer, and that’s a good thing. As many other projects are underway, one came to fruition in July 2023: “How to Preach for a Funeral” by Rev. Stephen K. Preus.
Pastor Preus had written a wonderful paper entitled, “How to Preach at a Funeral”, which he delivered at the Bugenhagen conference at St John’s Lutheran Church, Racine, WI, in July 2022. He submitted this paper to SALM for publication, with some of his own sermons as examples of how to put theory into practice.
This little book will be useful for seminary training, ongoing pastoral training, pastors’ conferences, winkels, and for pastors’ private reading.
Pastor Stephen Preus expresses the Gospel so clearly and beautifully in his funeral sermons, that this resource would also prove an immense comfort for those who are going through bereavement, and for those who are counseling the bereaved.
SALM put this booklet through peer and doctrinal review, had it edited and proofed, and graphic designer Kristina Phillips completed the page layout and cover for publication in print and ebook formats. It was first launched at the Bugenhagen Conference, Racine, July 2023.
This is the latest example of how SALM is producing resources not only for South Asia, but also for the world, as we put into practice our policy of mission without borders. Now that we have this work in English, we can also begin the process of translating it into other South Asian languages.
The 60-page booklet can now be ordered online at Amazon.com (in print or for e-reader) and other retailers, ISBN: 978-1960840004
You can also read it online for free, or print and distribute for yourself, by accessing and downloading the files from this website.
