The English translation of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism is now available online, in print, and on ebook. This was published online a long time ago, but only on 10 October were the Print and ebook editions finalized and made available for purchase, thanks to the hard work of Dr. Kristina Phillips, who finished the interior and cover, to produce a professional-quality final product.
It’s been done before. So why do it again? This edition is special for several reasons. First this English edition is free of copyright restrictions. The interior and cover files are freely available from this website, so that the book can be reprinted in any country, without restriction, for the hundreds of millions of English speaking Christians outside of the USA.
Second this translation serves as the basis for translations into other South Asian languages. Those translations are already being published online on this website, and can likewise be freely copied and shared.
Third this book is the first in a series of Small Catechisms that SALM intends to produce according to the same template. We expect the Nepali edition will be ready by Christmas, and other languages will follow in the New Year. Check the SALM website again soon for more updates.
